Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 3 was released this week, and I’ve been doing a lot of posts, introducing you to the whole team and their latest villain of the High Evolutionary.
Now you know the team, it’s time to go one step further and give you some comic book recommendations, so you can read all about them for yourself!
I’ve already done a post on the two best starting points for the Guardians, and recommendations for Groot solo comics, so I won’t repeat myself with them, but there are plenty of others to talk about!
But, before I get started – this is your official spoiler warning – this post WILL contain references to the latest Guardians film, so if you have not seen it yet, save this post and come back to it later once you have!
You have been officially warned!

Star-Lord and his team—Gamora, Rocket, Groot, and Drax—must infiltrate a planet and “steal back” jewels for the Kree Empire. The only catch? The place where they must pull of the heist is Ego the Living Planet!
A fun Infinity Comic (a comic that doesn’t have pages on Marvel Unlimited, you just scroll downwards through the whole story) featuring some very familiar faces from the Guardians MCU movies!

Created by the utopian scientists of the Enclave and hatched from the imaginations of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, there came a being known only as… Him! And when this perfect being encountered the High Evolutionary, he gained a purpose, a Soul Gem and a name: Adam Warlock! His adventures will rock your world – and Counter-Earth too! Now, Warlock’s complete original 1970s saga is collected in one volume. Featuring the first life (and death) of Adam Warlock, the debut of the Infinity Gems, the Magus saga, the all-time classic war against Thanos, the debut of Her, the resurrection of Adam Warlock and a massive treasure trove of bonus material!
Adam Warlock‘s earliest adventures, featuring his time with the High Evolutionary and Counter-Earth, just like in the film!

From screenwriter Nicole Perlman – co-writer of the Guardians of the Galaxy screenplay – and Marvel superstar artist Marco Checchetto, comes a killer new ongoing series! Once upon a time, Gamora was Thanos’ heartless pet assassin and favourite adopted daughter. Today, she is the backbone of the Guardians of the Galaxy, putting her life on the line to defend the innocent throughout the universe. What was it that transformed her from being used as a tool of her oppressor, to a champion of the powerless? Embark on a journey of revenge and redemption, and witness how Gamora earned her reputation as the Deadliest Woman in the Galaxy.
If you’re looking for a solo Gamora run, this is the way to go!

Back-to-back Annihilation wars have weakened the boundaries of our universe. In the face of terror, who stands to defend a desperate universe? Star-Lord and his squad of butt-kickers – the modern day Guardians of the Galaxy!
The first Guardians comics featuring this lineup – this does admittedly come after the Annihilation event (I’ll have a reading order up by the end of the month), but it’s consistently voted as one of the best runs ever, so you can’t go that wrong with it.
And that’s my recommendation list! I hope these, along with all my character profiles/explainers have helped you with your Guardians Of The Galaxy reading journey – if you have anything specific you want me to cover next, let me know in the comments and I’ll get right on it!
