Mini Bio: Cosmo started out life as a test subject for the Soviet Space Programme. He was launched into space in the 1960’s, but his ship drifted off course, which landed eventually on Knowhere. At some point during this trip, he was hit by cosmic rays, which mutated him and gave him his psionic powers.

The people of Knowhere made Cosmo their Chief of Security, and the first person he met in this job was Nova, who had landed on the floating head by accident.

Cosmo then also met the Guardians Of The Galaxy, and let them use Knowhere as their base of operations. He also suggested the names ‘The Retrievers’ and ‘The K-Nines’ as team names for the group.

Later on, Cosmo created a group called the Annhilators, consisting of the Silver Surfer, Beta Ray Bill, Gladiator, Ronan The Accuser and Quasar to protect the universe when half the Guardians were killed (temporarily) in a battle. Team didn’t work quite as planned, but did eventually get the job done when they were most needed.

The last time Cosmo was seen, he was being helped by the young Nova, Sam Ryder, after he had been poisoned. Nova used the Nova force to push the poison out of Cosmo’s body, and saved his life, allowing him to continue serving as the Knowhere Corps Chief of Security.

Interesting trivia: Cosmo is apparently a Golden Retriever/Labrador cross.
