A Christmas Gift Guide For Comic Lovers

What do you get the comic book lovers in your life for Christmas? They own a tonne of comics, you’ve got no idea which ones they need, how comics work in the first place, or which characters they love the most.

I’ve been there before, and God knows my family have been there before with me, so I’ve put together a small guide of comic book related gifts to help you out!

I’m going to start with some non-specific items, so you don’t have to worry about publishers/specific characters, then go onto some more specific things later on, so let’s get going!

All I Want For Christmas Is More Comics (£27.60)

Everyone loves an ugly Christmas jumper, and this one can work well for any comic lover – from those who are just getting into the medium, to seasoned readers.

And, if I’m honest, I’m biased towards this one because I designed it and sell it in my shop. It’s also available as a t-shirt, a tote bag and as a mug too, so you have plenty of options with this design too!

POW! Sticker (£1.66)

We’ve all seen the classic ‘BOOM’ and ‘POW’ bubbles from comic books floating around, so this sticker makes a great stocking stuffer, or just added decoration to a wrapped present!

As this is sold on Redbubble, you can also find this design of a variety of products including t-shirts, jumpers, tote bags and almost anything else you can think of, so again there are a lot of options for you to choose from.

Meanwhile… Magnet (£7.99)

Another fun stocking stuffer, representing a classic comic book text box!

The Specifics:

Because… Boomerangs T-shirt (£17.51)

This is a reference to the Matt Fraction Hawkeye run, which heavily influenced the Hawkeye TV show, so if someone you love absolutely loves Hawkeye, then this is the perfect gift for them!

Again, as always with Redbubble, it comes in a variety of products, so have a look around and see what’s available!

Play Dumb! Not That Dumb! Into The Spider-Verse Coasters (£16.76)

If you’ve got a comic book lover in your life, then they’ve almost certainly seen Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse and absolutely loved it. This is one of the most famous quotes from the film, and is designed to look exactly like the text did in the scene!

The Boys Lego Figures (£3.49)

If you’re looking for something for a comic book fan who also loves Lego, then I can’t recommend these Lego figures enough – there’s many different comic book characters from all over the superhero spectrum available on this etsy store, so you will be spoiled for choice! And, what’s great is that these figures are all standard Lego sizes, so they can be used in all Lego sets!

I’ve chosen the TV show The Boys for this example, so I’ll put out a bit of a warning – this TV show is very much not for kids, or anyone who doesn’t like blood, guts, gore, swearing, or anything along those lines. If you buy these specific figures, make sure you’re buying them for a fan of the show/comic first!

Heartstopper Tote Bag (£16.50)

Heartstopper by Alice Oseman has been popular among readers for years now, and it’s been catapulted into the spotlight even further this year with the Netflix adaption. So if you know anyone who loves the show, or the comic, this tote bag is the perfect gift for them!

I Am Hope Print (£24.50)

If you know someone who loves comics, the chances are, they’ve read Neil Gaiman’s Sandman, and almost certainly now also watched the Netflix adaption. This ‘I am Hope’ print is from a classic moment in the comics where the main character of Dream is battling Lucifer, and is set out exactly as it is in the comics, with the iconic black speech bubble and white writing.

If you have a Sandman fan in your life, then anything with this quote on will be a dream present!

And that’s my quick guide to Christmas gifts for comic lovers – I’ve tried to go outside of my usual Marvel sphere, and I hope it was useful – if you want any more guides like this, let me know and I’ll do my best to get on it!
