Savage Avengers by David Pepose

AN ALL-NEW, ALL-DIFFERENT, ALL-DANGEROUS TEAM ASSEMBLES!
Since his exile from the Hyborian Age, Conan the Barbarian has conquered the most dangerous foes the modern Marvel Universe has to offer – but what happens when this hard-edged Cimmerian finds himself on the run from the cybernetic soldier of the future known as Deathlok? Outgunned and outmatched, Conan must turn to an unlikely group of loners, berserkers, and killers if he hopes to survive the night – but can these Savage Avengers defy Deathlok’s murderous manhunt, or will they become the next targets in the crosshairs of tomorrow? Don’t miss out on a bold new beginning for Marvel’s most savage super heroes, as Ringo Award-winning writer David Pepose (Spencer & Locke, Scout’s Honor) and superstar artist Carlos Magno (KANG THE CONQUEROR, RoboCop: Dead or Alive) introduce a sensational new lineup that will resonate across every era of the House of Ideas!

I’d recommend being up to date with all characters mentioned in this, just in case.

Bind Ups:

Captain America, Iron Man: Armour And Shield by Derek Landy

Two of the greatest Avengers of all unite! A government agent turned Hydra provocateur stages a daring breakout on her way to prison, and the escape attracts the attention of both Captain America and Iron Man! When Steve Rogers and Tony Stark realize they both have a connection to the slippery fugitive, they team up to track her down – only to discover she’s not the only player on the board with big plans and sinister motives. What have the two Avengers stumbled into? And how do the Paladins fit in? They’re a group of eager new super heroes – but will they be an asset for Cap and Iron Man, or a deadly liability? It’s Winghead and Shellhead together again in a thrilling new tale of suspense!

This explores Tony and Steve’s relationship, and everything that has gone on between them over their comic history, so I’d say that it’s probably best to have a lot of knowledge of the characters and the bigger Marvel events involving the two of them first.

Amazing Spider-Man Beyond volume 4 by Patrick Gleason

The finale of “Beyond” is here! Ben Reilly, the Beyond Corporation’s officially licensed and sponsored Spider-Man, has been put through more than any web-slinger before him. And after the Queen Goblin’s first shocking encounter with Ben, she now faces the Black Cat! It’s a showdown for the ages, and you’re about to see just how horrifying this queen’s reign will be! When the Daily Bugle is decimated, will Ben bounce back and take down his deadly new enemy? Can Peter Parker fight his way back from death’s door to help Ben defeat the horrors that lurk behind Door Z? Monica Rambeau makes her move, the Lizard returns and it all ends with Spider-Man vs. Spider-Man! You may be surprised which one you’re rooting for! And when the dust settles, what lies beyond Beyond?!

The previous volumes have no individual names, they’re just numbered.

Marvel Masterworks: Avengers volume 22 by Roger Stern and more

In the 1980s, every series touched by Roger Stern turned to gold. His tenure on The Avengers proves that-and it begins here! First, Monica Rambeau takes her place alongside Earth’s Mightiest, just in time to witness the trial of Hank Pym. Then, Egghead rears his evil head, pushing Pym to the edge. The Avengers also welcome another new member, Thanos’ fun-loving brother Starfox! Stern strengthens the Avengers position as the lynchpin Marvel heroes with an Annual adventure to the Inhumans’ refuge on the moon and a Fantastic Four crossover drawn by John Byrne. The startling aftermath will change the Vision forever. Plus: Doctor Strange and the Scarlet Witch seek the dark power of the Book of the Darkhold!

The previous volumes are numbered 1-21.

Marvel Masterworks: Dazzler volume 3 by Jim Shooter and more

Dazzler returns to the top of the Masterworks charts in her third volume! Family secrets explode in Alison Blaire’s life: No sooner does her half sister, Lois London, arrive than Dazzler finds herself on the run as a fugitive accused of murder while trying to stay one step ahead of a vengeful Rogue! Dazzler is bent on staying out of the super hero game – but she still winds up in Attilan, where she must team up with the Inhumans against Blackout and Moonstone! Things are much calmer on the fashion runway when Alison joins Millie the Model’s agency – that is, until Chili Storm shows up! This volume concludes with the graphic novel DAZZLER: THE MOVIE, guest-starring the X-Men!

The previous volumes are just numbered, but annoying, volume 2 has not been released yet.

Moon Knight by Huston, Benson and Hurwitz Omnibus

Once, Marc Spector was the Egyptian god Khonshu’s avatar on Earth. Now, Spector and Khonshu are at odds. Moon Knight desperately wants to get back in the hero game, but every battle pushes him closer to the edge – both in brutality and sanity! As the increasingly unstable Moon Knight tries to navigate the super hero Civil War, he finds himself in the sights of Norman Osborn’s Thunderbolts! Spector must take refuge far away, in one of his multiple personas – but the lure of vengeance is too strong to keep him away for long. Can Moon Knight reclaim his heroic ideals, or will he succumb to the shadows – and end up back under Khonshu’s thrall?

Covering a tonne of Moon Knight‘s more recent runs, though I will warn you that some of those runs tie into Dark Reign, so be prepared to read that too!

She-Hulk by Peter David Omnibus

Gamma-powered HULK scribe Peter David crafts a whole new direction for the lean green fighting machine as the world’s most dangerous lawyer takes on the world’s most dangerous job! But why has Jennifer Walters become a bounty hunter? What happened to her once thriving legal career? And what startling secret is her new partner Jazinda hiding? Okay, Jazinda is a Skrull – but what’s her other secret?! As Shulkie tracks down criminals and wrestles with justice, she’ll face the Absorbing Man, alien enforcers, a Celtic god and the might of the Man-Elephant! But will She-Hulk’s allies the Lady Liberators cause an international incident or a cosmic crisis? And when the Skrulls launch their Secret Invasion, where will Jazinda’s loyalties lie?

You’ll want to read She-Hulk by Dan Slott before this, as well as Secret Invasion.

X-Men: Fall of The Mutants Omnibus by Louise Simonson and more

The X-Men and their allies face war on every front! X-Factor comes up against their deadliest challenge yet in Apocalypse and his Horsemen, including the all-new – and all-too-familiar – Archangel! The New Mutants lose one of their own on an island of horrors! The X-Men take on the lethal Marauders – and the survivors will be asked to sacrifice themselves to stop the demonic Adversary! Featuring tie-ins starring Captain America, Daredevil, the Fantastic Four, the Hulk and Power Pack, this is one of the most devastating X-Men crossovers of all time!

You’ll want to read Chris Claremont’s Mutant Massacre first.

And that’s everything coming out this week – Who else has put Derek Landy’s Captain America and Iron Man bind up on their pull list? Tell me in the comments below!
