This week is an exciting week for Marvel – we have the finale of Moon Knight, and then Doctor Strange and the Multiverse Of Madness is coming out!
But that’s not all, Marvel Comics is also releasing a tonne of new, exciting things to read!
All Elite Wrestling superstar Nyla Rose slams into Krakoa with a back-breaking one-shot featuring the first X-Man to die in action! In this mega-sized one-shot, Rose teams up with comics star Steve Orlando and First Nations artist David Cutler to grapple with the ramifications of Thunderbird’s recent resurrection! The world John Proudstar has returned to is completely different from the one he once knew. Looking to find refuge in the familiar, Thunderbird seeks out someone from his past at an Apache reservation…and uncovers a horrifying threat to the Indigenous mutant community. Will Thunderbird be able to save his people? Or will his justified rage lead him astray?
I’d definitely make sure I was up to date with Krakoa before reading this – I have reading guides for Dawn Of X (parts one and two) and Reign of X and will be doing another soon when more bind ups come out.

• Watch as THE CABAL plans to set society ablaze – and you’ll never guess who is leading them!
You’ll need knowledge of Spider-Man 2099 before reading this – I’ll be doing a character profile for this character next year before Across The Spider-Verse comes out.

Then, Fabian Nicieza pulls the strings as Mister Sinister assembles some of the world’s greatest experts on mutantkind to discuss the evolution of Homo superior – but to what devious end?! And Louise and Walter Simonson present the never-before-seen link between the New Mutants and Apocalypse! Then Chris Claremont teams with Scot Eaton to revisit the days when the world believed the X-Men were dead, as Nightcrawler and Shadowcat must save a friend from a deadly plot in a prelude to Excalibur!
I’d recommend having a lot of knowledge of previous X-Men runs before reading this, as this is set during various fan favourite X-Men runs. But, if you are interested in this series, the first volume in this series is called The Missing Links.
The myth-making climax of Jason Aaron’s legendary run! The Odinson has regained his mantle – but Mjolnir has been destroyed! With conflict spreading through the realms, Thor will need new hammers. Lots of them! But will any amount of weapons be enough against such threats as the unstoppable Juggernaut and the Queen of Cinders? Valkyries, angels and more join the fight as the dark elf Malekith’s War of the Realms spills into Midgard, engulfing Thor and all those he loves! Everything is about to change, for Thor and for Asgard. Then, at the end of time, witness the final fate of the ancient King Thor as he encounters a very old friend and faces his hated adopted brother Loki one last time! Jason Aaron and artist Esad Ribic reunite for the epic conclusion!
The previous volumes are called volumes 1-4, if you’re interested in this run, make sure you’re not missing anything by checking out my Thor by Jason Aaron reading guide.
Goddess of Thunder! When the Odinson is rendered unworthy of lifting Mjolnir, another claims the hammer! Her battles against Frost Giants, Malekith and the Minotaur prove she’s well worthy of the name Thor! But this new hero is secretly Dr. Jane Foster – and each time she transforms, it worsens the cancer that’s killing her! As the Odinson comes to terms with the loss of his hammer, the new Thor defines her independence when she battles Odin himself! But will she prevail when she’s caught between Roxxon and S.H.I.E.L.D.? Meanwhile, Malekith is waging war across the realms – and Jane must lead a powerful new team to oppose his terrible plans!
The entirety of Jane Foster’s time as Thor!
Bruce Banner is in charge – but for how long? After returning from the Beyonder’s Battleworld, Banner’s precarious hold on the Hulk’s savage persona has begun to slip, threatening to destroy the happiness he’s finally attained! And when the fighting-mad Hulk comes roaring back, it leads to a no-holds-barred battle against the entire Marvel Universe – and a shocking twist! Now, banished to the mysterious and deadly Crossroads dimension by Doctor Strange, a nearly mindless Hulk must claw his way back from the edge of insanity! As he battles the U-Foes, the N’Garai and a parade of ever more bizarre enemies, the Hulk will confront aspects of his own fractured psyche. But how did Bruce’s tragic childhood shape the monster within?
Previous volumes are called: Man Or Monster?, The Hulk Must Die, The Leader Lives, In The Hands Of Hydra, Who Will Judge The Hulk?, Crisis On Counter-Earth, and, And Now… The Wolverine. There are a few volumes missing, as they haven’t been released yet, so don’t worry if you’ve read the previous volumes and feel like you’ve missed something! Hopefully, it’ll all be filled in soon with new releases!
Al Ewing and Javier Rodriguez reunite for a cosmos-colliding journey! When existence itself faces extraordinary threats, it needs an extraordinary defence! That’s when you call…the Defenders! Doctor Strange and the Masked Raider gather a non-team of Marvel’s weirdest, wildest heroes for a mission that will uncover the hidden architecture of reality itself! This cosmos was not the first to exist – but if the Defenders can’t track Marvel’s oldest villain through the deepest trenches of time, it might be the last! The group must travel to the long-extinct previous cosmos, the birthplace of Galactus – but the Devourer is not the man they remember. Meet Taaia, Omnimax and more as Marvel history expands and Doctor Strange’s makeshift Defenders face extreme jeopardy!
I would definitely recommend not reading this unless you have a lot of previous knowledge on everyone mentioned here. Currently, the only character I have a character profile on is Doctor Strange (and I’ll be expanding a lot on him over the next week!), but hopefully, I’ll have some more info for you in the coming months!
In 1972, one of the most iconic characters in comics history – the flame-skulled Ghost Rider – burned his demonic presence into readers’ minds! A legion of fans became addicted to the Rider’s combination of hell-on-wheels drama and action-horror adventure. And it begins right here as Johnny Blaze makes a deal with the devil to save his friend’s life! The payment due? Transformation into the Ghost Rider! The adventures that follow will take the horror hero to Hell to battle Satan, pit him against the tempting Witch-Woman and team him up with Daimon Hellstrom, the Son of Satan! Written by Gary Friedrich and Tony Isabella – and gloriously illustrated by Mike Ploog, Tom Sutton and Jim Mooney – these iconic adventures laid the groundwork for decades of red-hot action!
If you’re looking for Ghost Rider’s origins/his earliest stories, then this is the comic for you!
Marvel’s cosmic superstars return in explosive, widescreen sci-fi style! Annihilus, lord of the Negative Zone, has declared war! And as his unstoppable Annihilation Wave swarms into the Marvel Universe, demolishing all in its path, only a handful of heroes can resist the destruction! Nova learns the ways of war from Drax the Destroyer; the Silver Surfer seeks out his former master, Galactus, for aid; the Super-Skrull fights for his son’s life; and Ronan the Accuser faces Gamora and her women warriors! Nova and Quasar’s army leads the charge – but as heroes fall and Annihilus rises, the universe’s one remaining hope may be Thanos, the Mad Titan!
One of the more cosmic events for Marvel Comics, so I’d make sure that you have knowledge of everyone mentioned in the synopsis.
And that’s everything coming out this week! What’s on your pull list? I’m checking out Defenders for sure!
