Iron Fist by Alyssa Wong

WHO IS THE NEW IRON FIST?!
•  After giving up his power to save the world, DANNY RAND believes he’s seen the last of the IRON FIST…
•  …But when DEMONS begin to attack cities around the world, a MYSTERIOUS NEWCOMER in a FAMILIAR MASK appears, hands blazing with the CHI OF SHOU-LAO THE UNDYING!
•  Who is this NEW IRON FIST? And does his power really come from the DRAGON OF K’UN-LUN… Or from something far more sinister?

I’d recommend reading at least Iron Fist: Heart Of The Dragon by Larry Hama and David Watcher first, as this carries on directly from that run.

Bind Ups:

Doctor Strange Omnibus Volume 2 by Chris Claremont and more

With an unmatched roll call of amazing Marvel creators, our second Doctor Strange Omnibus is guaranteed to cast a spell on you! The adventures of the Master of the Mystic Arts continue as Doctor Strange faces Kaluu, the mystic threat from the Nameless Nowhere! Other legendary tales include the origin of the Ancient One, the return of Baron Mordo, an otherworldly odyssey to save Victoria Bentley and the arrival of the Living Tribunal! And in 1968, Doctor Strange received his own solo title, allowing the Sorcerer Supreme to soar to new horizons – including showdowns with Eternity and Dormammu, a new costume and the beginnings of the Defenders!

You will just need to have the first Omnibus (just called Volume 1) before reading this!

Fantastic Four by Dan Slott Volume 2

Ben Grimm and Alicia Masters finally head off on their dream honeymoon – only to have their party crashed by the Immortal Hulk! And hot on the heels of that encounter, one of the biggest FF secrets of all time is about to be revealed! Everyone knows the story of the brave souls bombarded by cosmic rays and transformed into superhumans, and how they became their world’s first line of defense. They are…the Unparalleled! Seven heroes who now must fulfill their destiny by defeating the fearsome, foretold forces of…the Fantastic Four! What?! And as the FF grapple with their part in the Unparalleled’s mythology, Johnny Storm is about to meet his match! Plus: fantastic tales ranging from Yancy Street to the Negative Zone!

You’ll need Volume 1 first, and a bit of knowledge on Secret Wars (guide coming soon!). For now, I have a guide to Dan Slott’s Fantastic Four on the lead up to his latest work – Reckoning War.

Howard The Duck by Chip Zdasrky and Joe Quinones

Trapped in a world he’s grown quite accustomed to! Howard the Duck returns, courtesy of the sensational creative team of Chip Zdarsky and Joe Quinones – they’re the duckiest! The furious fowl is taking on weird cases as the Marvel Universe’s newest and most feathery private investigator, and his new job will take him everywhere from the Savage Land to across the cosmos! Howie shares offbeat adventures with Rocket Raccoon, Squirrel Girl, Gwenpool, She-Hulk and more – but his strangest case of all may just be the disappearance of Hollywood’s Lea Thompson! Plus: What’s a duck to do when the Ten Realms go to waugh…sorry, we mean war?

We’ve seen Howard The Duck a few times in the MCU (Guardians Of The Galaxy and What If: Party Thor), but here’s a solo comic for him! I’d say it will also be worth checking out War of The Realms when reading this, as the bind up has a tie-in to the event.

Moon Knight Epic Collection: Final rest

The end of an era for Moon Knight! The landmark, critically acclaimed run of Doug Moench and Bill Sienkiewicz comes to a close as the moon sets on Marc Spector. But first he must survive threats old and new, including the deadly return of Stained Glass Scarlet! The murderous Black Spectre has a killer plan to pin his crimes on Moon Knight, and a rematch looms against the savage Werewolf by Night – but will the Fly prove to be far more than an
annoyance for Moon Knight? Then, when Marlene finds herself at the mercy of magic, Marc Spector seeks out a professional: Doctor Strange! And secrets from the past are uncovered as Zohar, the master of divine illumination, strikes. The dead shall rise – but will Moon Knight meet his final rest?

I’ll have some full reading guides up in March/April for Moon Knight, but if you’re eager to get going with the character then look no further than his Epic Collection! There are only three volumes, and this is the first, the first two are Bad Moon Rising and Shadows Of The Moon.

Moon Knight Volume 1: Midnight Missions by Jed MacKay

His mission is justice! The mysterious Mr. Knight has opened his Midnight Mission, sheltering his people from the weird and horrible. The Moon Knight stalks the rooftops and alleys marked with his crescent moon tag, bringing violence to any who would harm his flock. While Khonshu languishes in prison, Marc Spector’s sacred duty must still be observed: the protection of those who travel at night. But what happens when those he would save are turned into weapons against him? When gangs of elderly residents leave a trail of bizarre violence, Moon Knight must put his body, mind and very soul on the line to end the carnage! A mysterious foe attacks from an unexpected direction, an old friend comes to visit and Marc finds himself answering the same question over and over again: “Why do you wear the mask?”

Definitely not one for someone new to Moon Knight! I’d recommend being completely up to date with the character before going near this.

Marvel Masterworks Two-In-One Volume 6 by Chris Claremont and more

Remember when the FF encountered Him? Well, Thing and Starhawk discover Her! This sets off a multi-part saga of cosmic proportions that draws in Moondragon, the High Evolutionary and – wouldn’t you know it, the being formerly known as Him: Adam Warlock! But isn’t he dead? Then, the Thing fights alongside Stingray, Scarlet Witch and Triton in an underwater adventure against the Serpent Squad! Further team-ups with Hyperion and the Angel set up another mini-epic teaming the Thing, Mister Fantastic and the Inhumans against the super-villainous threat of Maelstrom! This TWO-IN-ONE trip concludes with a battle against dinosaurs in a secret high-tech land with Quasar, Ben’s old boss at Project PEGASUS, and a special Christmas issue with the Puppet Master!

Collecting Thing’s solo series in beautiful hardcovers – this is volume 6, so you’ll want volumes 1-5 first.

S.W.O.R.D. by Al Ewing Volume 2

The morning after the Hellfire Gala! The party is over, but not all the guests have gone home. Victor Von Doom is staying for dinner. And he’s begun chatting with a very old friend in a very new setting. Chatting about thrones, empires, magic, Mysterium…and the cosmic chaos of the Last Annihilation! Meanwhile, now that the X-Men have gone interplanetary and the central seat of Arakko has been claimed, everyone knows who speaks for Sol. Storm rules! But when you have to prove to your people who you are, every single day without fail, what eventually becomes of who you once were? As the Lethal Legion attacks Mars, explosive problems arise on the Peak – and a mole inside S.W.O.R.D. is revealed! Meanwhile, Wiz Kid and Cable find themselves face-to-face with the one foe they never expected!

The second part of the latest S.W.O.R.D. run, which is part of the Reign Of X run.

Ororo: Before The Storm by Mac Sumerak and more

A history lesson you won’t want to miss! The back alleys of Cairo’s “Thieves’ Quarter” are no place for a child to grow up – unless that child is destined to be one of Marvel’s greatest heroes! Long before she became the X-Man known as Storm, a young orphan named Ororo Munroe prowled the streets of Cairo, a pickpocket trained by a master thief. But when the opportunity of a lifetime arises, get ready for awesome Egyptian adventure as Ororo leads her fellow street urchins into… the tomb of Ozymandias! Plus: more tales of Storm’s early days as a hero, including team-ups with Jean Grey and Spider-Man – and her first meeting with Gambit!

If you want to know about Storm’s childhood, this is the best place to go!

New Mutants Omnibus Volume 2 by Chris Claremont and more

The New Mutants take a road trip to Asgard – with the trickster god Loki guiding them to all the wrong places! Then, it’s back to class under a new schoolmaster: Magneto! The former villain has sworn to atone for his crimes, but winning the New Mutants’ trust won’t be easy. As the team contends with their rivals the Hellions, they’ll face death and rebirth, a mutant massacre, a twisted future timeline, a rebellion in Limbo and more! But why have Sunspot and Warlock run away to join the Fallen Angels? Chris Claremont’s foundational run concludes here!

You’ll need volume 1 of the Claremont Omnibus!

And that’s everything coming out today! Who else is putting Marvel Voices and Ororo on their pull list this week?
