6th October Marvel Comic Releases

This week’s new comic book day is giving us very, very little in terms of new Marvel releases – they’re literally only launching two new runs, and absolutely no bind ups! Everything else being released today is all continuations of already-running series’!

So, despite how short this is, let’s get into the two new single issues coming out this week:

Darkhold Alpha by Steve Orlando

ENTER THE PAGES OF THE DARKHOLD – AND LOSE YOUR MIND IN MIGHTY MARVEL FASHION!
Critically acclaimed writer Steve Orlando joins forces with extraordinary artist Cian Tormey for a story that will delight and terrify! For hundreds of years, scholars and heroes alike have searched for the complete text of the Darkhold – a.k.a. the Book of the Damned, written by the elder god Chthon. Now one of the greatest sorcerers in the Multiverse has found it – and Chthon has found him. To save them all, the Scarlet Witch must gather the world’s greatest heroes…and unleash their inner darkness. Witness the Marvel Universe’s descent into chaos!

Very interesting that this is coming up, especially after the Darkhold turned up in WandaVision earlier this year! At the very least, I’d recommend reading my Darkhold guide before going near this new series!

Eternals Celestia by Kieron Gillen

THERE IS NO GOD FOR THE ETERNALS!
Now that the truth of their existence is revealed, Ajak and Makkari must pick up the pieces and try to find a road forward… no matter how terrifying it will be, or how their choices will irrevocably shock the rest of the Eternals? Also: How do the Avengers of 1,000,000 BCE figure into it?

You will definitely need to read Kieron Gillen’s previous Eternals releases (Only Death Is Eternal and Eternals: Thanos Rises issue 1) and Jason Aaron’s Avengers volume 8, where Avengers 1,000,000 BCE first turn up.

And that’s everything coming out this week! It’s a short week, but has either of these peaked your interest? I’m definitely intrigued by both!
