Episode 3 gave us an insight into the past and mind of the Loki variant we all know and love, but it left a lot of questions about Sylvie, aka, the other Loki variant.

Now, I’ve already done a bit of a guide on Lady Loki last week, but, this variant Loki goes by Sylvie, and Sylvie is an entirely different character in the comics…

So, who is she? Is she Loki? Is she Sylvie? Is she a mix of both? Only time will tell, but hopefully this guide will give you some more information, so you can form your own theories!

Who Is Sylvie?

Sylvie’s full name is Sylvie Lushton – she’s a normal teenage girl from Broxton, Oklahoma, who wakes up one morning to discover that she has magical powers.

What Are Her Powers?

Sylvie can use sorcery and telekinesis, she can manipulate minds, fly, teleport, create force fields, deflect other people’s spells, project energy.

When she wakes up with these powers, she decides to go and become an Avenger, and takes on the name Enchantress, after Amora The Enchantress. She also sometimes speaks with a fake Asgardian accent.

She has had no formal training, so everything she does is through sheer will power, which makes her an incredible powerful fighter. In the comics, she has gone toe to toe with Doctor Strange and Wiccan, and held her own, if not won, against them in battle.

How Did She Get Her Powers?

Loki gave her her powers, because she ‘liked the idea of creating a mortal who suspects she’s one of my kind.’ It is currently unclear if there is a larger reason for Sylvie’s creation. It is also unclear as to whether Loki created Sylvie the person, or just Sylvie’s powers.

What Comics Is She In?

Her first appearance is in Dark Reign: Young Avengers (2009) by Paul Connel and Mark Brooks, from there she also plays a part in Illuminati (2016) by Joshua Williamson. She also appears in Avengers Academy (2010) issues 34-27 by Christos Gage, and Avengers Undercover (2014) issues 6-10 by Dennis Hopeless.
