All this week, I’m going to be posting character profiles for all the New Mutants characters, starting with Cannonball!

Name: Sam Guthrie

Superhero Name: Cannonball

Played By: Charlie Heaton

Powers: Able to fly at the speed of a jet while encased in an impenetrable force field.

Mini Bio: Sam grew up in Kentucky, and worked in a coal mine until his mutant powers manifested during a mine shaft collapse. Donald Pierce hired him to attack the New Mutants on behalf of the Hellfire Club, but, eventually, he joined his fellow mutant at Charles Xavier’s School For Gifted Children. He’s a leader of the New Mutants, and has also joined with the X-Men, the X-Force, and sometimes the Avengers, on missions.
